The practice of human values is the basis for a model of active and participative culture, which brings out the qualities of each person, broadens the horizons of the mind and opens the human being up to all the expressions of the spirit.

Putting into practice human values forms the basis of a model of active and participatory culture that draws on the qualities of each person, broadens the horizons of the mind and makes the expressions of the spirit available to all. As part of this educational work, the IONA dedicates particular attention to its publications, which are available through its publishing ventures and libraries. This model of culture covers a wide area and embraces the most diverse disciplines: from history to anthropology, physics, art, sport… helping to explain the phenomena and issues of our times.

Working with the performing arts at New Acropolis has opened for me the experience of Art as a path of transformation. Through the culture initiatives, I have enjoyed uncovering the depth and richness of various forms of expression, and experienced how tradition can come alive when connected with meaning.

Culture is an expression of life itself. At New Acropolis, through various cultural performances – as an active participant and audience I gleaned the power of indomitable human spirit. I touched upon higher sentiments that are difficult to describe. Culture has the power of unifying the participant and the audience, in a thread that’s woven together.

Culture is one of the pillars of New Acropolis. Cultural programs in NA go beyond just the aspect of entertainment and providing information. It goes deeper into what is the process of creating and the artists experiences in the creative process and how it is transmitted to an audience. This is very inspirational and opens up ones mind to possibilities.

Culture to me, is a joyous and participative means to investigate and celebrate the virtue of Beauty. The poet Rabindranath Tagore said, “Truth reveals itself in Beauty”.  As per my understanding, the Classical Arts are, in essence, a search for Beauty, Truth and thus are a means to attain Wisdom.
